Deck the Everything

I finally got the house decorated for the holidays today. At my house, "decorating" means "wrapping lights around everything bigger than a breadbox and not currently breathing." Observe:
Still sub-Liberace sparkle levels. I'll try harder next year, promise.

The whole living/dining room is lit up with tiny white lights - probably some subconscious revolt on my part against the longest night of the year. I have the prettiest subconscious revolts ever, y'all.

In other house-y news, I picked up a great upcycled desk and chair set at my sister Tegan's shop The Octopus' Garden. Well, it was supposed to be a desk, but it seems to think it's a table, and I'm the permissive kind of furniture-owner:
There are souls in those jars.
Now I need another desk. My plucky little sister will just have to wrangle one up for me. (Seriously, her shop is full of all kinds of awesomeness. You should check it out if you're in the Tulsa area!)

And finally, my man made me dinner tonight. Steak au poivre and risotto. He's the best. <3
Great noms in the making.

My First Robot Minion

Because they're never too young to start building a colossal army of automatons, I stitched up these nifty Space Robots for my nieces for Christmas. Now if I could just get them to self-replicate.

Quilting scraps, felt, embroidery floss. Wee Wonderfuls pattern.

Weekend in Pictures

The remains of Thanksgiving's chocolate-hazelnut torte.

The public library is a knitter's best friend. Especially this time of year.

Paperwhite bulbs coming along nicely. Started a second batch today.

Scissor-tailed Friend

Expect to see more of this little guy. His twin will go on the other side of the jeans, just as soon as I stop wearing them everywhere. In the meantime, it's Stitchmas, which means I have no shortage of projects to keep me busy. My ideas are outpacing my fingers; thank the heavens for sketchbooks!
